MagicBands are colorful water proof bracelets that act as your “key” to many of your Disney World Vacation experiences.
Your MagicBand will allow you to:
Enter theme and water parks (with valid park admission linked to it)
Unlock the door to your Disney Resort hotel room
Gain access to your Lightning Lane rides.
Connect Disney PhotoPass images to your account
Charge food and purchases to your Disney Resort hotel room during your stay
How Do I Get A MagicBand?
MagicBands are no longer provided complementary to Disney Resort hotel Guests If staying at a Disney Resort hotel you will have the option to purchase a MagicBand up to 10 days prior to arrival. Here comes the fun part…Disney allows you to customize the color and theme of your MagicBand through your My Disney Experience account.
You can customize your MagicBand by selecting one of the Colorful MagicBands or one of their themed Premium MagicBands available on the site. You can also add a name to the underside of your MagicBand.
Customizing Your MagicBand?
You can customize your MagicBand as soon as you book a Disney Resort hotel.
To be able to customize your MagicBand you must do so online at least 11 days before you are expected to arrive at your Disney Resort hotel, and it will be shipped to your home.
If you customize your MagicBand between 10 days and 6 days before you arrive at your Disney Resort hotel, you will receive it when you check-in at your Disney Resort hotel.
If you do not customize your MagicBand you will be given a gray MagicBand at check-in at your resort hotel.
Don't Like the plain color MagicBands?
Disney sells "decorated" MagicBands featuring a variety of Disney characters and other fun Disney themed designs (see below for more details on where to find them).
Not Staying On-site? You Can Still Get A MagicBand
If you are not staying at a Disney Resort hotel you will receive a card, similar to a plastic credit card, when you purchase your theme park tickets. This card has all of the same functionality as the MagicBands, however you may chose to purchase a MagicBand for convenience.
If you are not staying at a Disney Resort hotel, or would like a decorated MagicBand you can purchase them:

Select Walt Disney World theme park and Resort hotel retail locations
Linking your theme park tickets to your MagicBand
Once you purchase a MagicBand you will need to link your theme park tickets to your band (you do not need to do this with the bands purchased through your My Disney Experience account that Disney sends you if staying at one of their resort hotels). To link your park tickets to your MagicBand you will need to have a My Disney Experience account. You can follow the steps to link your MagicBand here
